Resuscitation Style
Mothers lock up your daughters. Daughters lock up your little brothers. I was gone for a minute, now I'm back suckas and with a vengance. French composer and conductor Pierre Boulez once famously said, "all art of the past must be destroyed." Today I destroy my own past and grind it into future fodder by removing archives and starting this weblog off fresh, but for real this time.
I'm finishing up my workday after spending nearly an hour on the phone with yet another paranoid australian. I'm the perfect shill and or patsy because after listening for an hour or so to someone who actually believes what they are saying is the truth, I find myself reflexively nodding in agreement regardless of the message. Eat babies? Sure. Join the Army? Fine. My brain turns to sod which merrily falls under the heels of demagogues. I'll fight your war for you Mister. Outta sight! Anyway, feeling compelled to investigate this gent's research for myself, I came across what must be a "best-of" memepool link (along with this one) called Carnivore Personal Edition which capitalizes on the
"Carnivore" technology paid for by America and employed by the FBI to spy on Americans' internet data. This is an absolutely real thing. Using Carnivore, which scans every drip drip drop of data slipping and sliding around a network, this group of artists has created what amounts to visualizers that translate the data gathered into clever art school projects. As brilliant as it is beautiful as it is frightening. In the process of my "research" I also uncovered Get Your War On! which takes everything I love about redmeatand adds a hearty serving of f-bombs and tongue-in-cheek lefty propaganda to make you chortle and snort at the same time.
The whistle has blown and I'm out for the weekend. I will absolutely not post on the weekend because I no longer have a computer or internet access at my home.
R's Art Pick: Next Monday go check out theThe PIERRE BOULEZ Project" performance at The Church and revel in the pomo hipster artfag wet dream.
